Stuart Paul Bowie
Stuart Paul Bowie was born and raised in Eunice, Louisiana, where he graduated from St. Edmund High School.
Before earning his degrees, Stuart joined the United States Marine Corps as a machine-gunner during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he completed two tours of duty in Iraq. During his first deployment he served as point-man for the infantry dismounts of a Mobile Assault Platoon. During his second deployment he served in the dual capacity as an infantry squad leader and an instructor for the Iraqi Police, teaching courses ranging from small unit tactics to police ethics. After returning from Iraq, Stuart was selected to serve with a small group of marines being sent to Thailand to act as counter-insurgency instructors for the Royal Thai Army.Though he loved his time spent serving his country in the Corps, Stuart ultimately decided to leave the service to pursue other career opportunities. He was Honorably Discharged and returned to Louisiana shortly thereafter.While pursuing two separate degrees at Louisiana State University, Stuart worked first as a Supervisor at the Secretary of State’s Voter Registration Scanning Project and then as an LSAT instructor for the Princeton Review. Stuart continued working for the Princeton Review until he completed his education at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.
Stuart Paul Bowie is a practiced litigator with years of experience. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Lafayette Parish Bar Association. He has served on the Lafayette Young Lawyer’s Association Board. He has appeared in State District Court and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. He has completed training in Child Custody and Visitation Mediation at the Mediation Institute. Stuart is a member of the American Inns of Court, where he has served on the Executive Committee for many years. Additionally, he enjoys teaching, and frequently volunteers to serve as a coach or judge for Mock Trial Competitions around the state.Stuart is married to the former Mary Saitta of Lafayette. Stuart and Mary are the proud parents of two children, Eloise Sophie and Madeline Marie.
